PPP Development Stage – Establishing Principles

8.1 Why establish partnership principles?

In order to promote a sustainable solution and to ensure public-private partnerships are working to the benefit of all citizens, they must be carried out in accordance with sound principles. The principles established at the outset underlie the content of the PPP and the way it is conducted; in addition, adherence to these principles provides the PPP with a strong foundation. The principles of PPPs should reflect the principles of good governance; they should also include the set of principles described below.
